Design Theory and Practice at MICA

This lecture series, made possible by Betty Cooke, supports work of MICA students seeking into integrate design theory into their work and particularly, their thesis projects. Contemporary adesigners, critics, and theorists inspire students to build their knowledge of design discourse and professional design methodologies. Students deepen their vocabulary for discussing, evaluating, and observing a broad range of design practices, including typography, branding, experience design, service design, information design, social design, and design for sustainability.

This session explores how self-initiated design can create radical change for society, as well as possible pitfalls for designers with good intentions.
